Cohort Groups

Open Acadia, in conjunction with the Acadia School of Education, offers admission to MEd programs to groups of professional educators living in a specific geographic area or working for a specific school board. An MEd program of courses is scheduled for each cohort, and then cohort members proceed through the program as a group.  If you would like further information on forming a cohort, please contact John Christopher, Manager of Programs at Open Acadia: john.christopher@acadiau.ca

Graduate Education Courses as an Independent Student

You can also apply for admission as an Independent Student; independent students can take up to four courses before applying for admission into a Master of Education degree program.  To apply to take Graduate courses as an Independent student you need to complete the Registration/Admission form on our website.

You are also required to submit official transcripts from all educational institutes you have attended as well as a current resume.  If you are applying on a letter of permission from another institute we will need a copy of this as well.

Summer Institutes

The Acadia University School of Education, in collaboration with Open Acadia, offers intensive three-week summer institutes designed to meet the professional development needs of educators.  Some MEd programs begin with a summer institute.
