Yvette LeBlanc
Having taken part in several ALL courses since her retirement, Yvette sees serving on the ALL board as a chance to give back.
She retired five years ago from a career in teaching, mostly at the elementary level, with several years in French Immersion. She is a mother of two grown children: an engineer and a teacher. She was a band parent for many years, chaperoning at least two trips to New York City.
She is a life member of Les Amis de Grand-Pré, a social support group connected with Grand-Pre National Historic Site. In addition, each week, she works at least three hours at Fidelis House, a guest home specifically for those with hospitalized family members, located on the Valley Regional Hospital property. Among her many interests are downhill skiing, skating and camping. Through the ALL program, Yvette has learned to play the flute in the past three years – not well, she says, but enough to keep her in the New Horizons Band! She thoroughly enjoyed the drawing and sketching class last year with Twila Robar DeCoste. This year, she enjoyed the Digital Photography course with Rick Penney.
