Train to be an ESL teacher in Canada or abroad with Acadia University's TESOL certificate program. Available online or on-campus, the program offers an extensive curriculum that balances practical methodology, cross-cultural awareness, linguistics, language acquisition theory, and hands-on teaching experience. The program is accredited by TESL Canada.
The TESOL Certificate is designed for individuals from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and levels of experience. Courses are hands-on, and provide you with the opportunity to interact with ESL students and experienced ESL teachers.

- Includes over 100 hours of instruction and 20 hours of practicum in an ESL classroom.
- Comprised of three credit courses (a total of 9 credit-hours) offered by Acadia's School of Education:
EDUC 4683 (5193) Linguistics for Teachers
EDUC 4863 (5183) Acquisition of Language
EDUC 4673 (5693) Teaching English as a Second Language
NOTE:
- You must meet the entrance requirements of Acadia University.
- Since these are upper level undergraduate courses, you must have some undergraduate course experience or permission from the program coordinator.
