Certificate in Business Administration
If you have been thinking about starting a university program in Business Administration but cannot commit to the schedule of traditional classroom-based studies, Open Acadia's Certificate in Business Administration is for you. This 30 credit-hour program will acquaint you with the different functional areas of business and the varied external issues that businesses must address in managing their affairs. Collectively, the courses within the program cover the foundational knowledge, analytical techniques, and practical management skills that are applied to support decision making in the functional disciplines of finance, accounting, marketing, information systems, human resources, and operations. All courses within the program can be applied towards Acadia’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree program. The program is comprised of the following: 30 credit-hours of courses from the business program, with up to 15 credit-hours chosen from the following courses: ECON 1013, 1023, 2613, Math 1613 or 1013, and COMM 1213. Note: all of these non-business courses are required in the BBA degree, and therefore should be completed as part of the certificate if you are considering using the certificate as a start towards completing a BBA degree at Acadia.
We recommend that you contact the School of Business or Open Acadia for advice on beginning your program. Prerequisites for courses need to be considered in planning the sequence that courses are completed.
