Orientation, Paperwork, Policies and Procedures

Teaching Contracts
Your contract will be sent to you via mail and/or email. Please sign and return the copies upon receipt to Cathy MacDonald in the President's Office as soon as possible. Without a signed contract on file access to important university resources is not available.

If this is your first contract with Acadia University, prior to the appointment date you will be contacted by the Human Resources Department to arrange an onsite orientation. The orientation will include an overview of payroll, a visit to Security for key and ID pickup, and a meeting with Technology services for network access setup and training.

HR Forms
To ensure your payroll can be processed the following Payroll forms must be completed and returned to Kelli Mahoney (585-1633; kelli.mahoney@acadiau.ca ), Human Resources. 

i. Information for Personnel Records and Direct Deposit
ii. Federal Personal Tax Credit Form
iii. Nova Scotia Provincial Tax Credit Form

Network Accounts. Your network account will be available during your appointment dates. If you require access in advance of your appointment date, please let us know.

ACORN. ACORN stands for Acadia Courseware Online Resource Network and is Acadia U's courseware management system.

Library Access
Your ID card will provide access to the library services.

Textbooks and readings packages for your course can be ordered through the university bookstore, Follett. Please contact Cathy Morine Collins at 0921txt@follett.com, or by phoning 902-585-1483.

All expenses must be pre-approved by Open Acadia.
