Who teaches your programs?

Acadia University Professional Development programs feature instruction from both Acadia University faculty and experts from various industry sectors. In both cases, your program will be conducted by professionals with extensive experience both inside and outside the classroom.

Are discounts available?

Yes, we offer discounts for groups, as well as Acadia students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Early bird discounts are often available for programs with set start times.

Do you offer Project Management training?

Our Project Management program is currently unavailable, but we encourage you to contact us regarding future availability.

If you are interested in Customized Programs or group training for your organization, we may have a Project Management training option that fits your needs and budget.

I work for a not-for-profit or governmental organization. Are your programs right for me?

Our Professional Development programs are not necessarily "corporate" like those of some of our competitors.

  • We have specifically approached our teaching and program development to provide effective learning for professionals in both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations of various sizes.
  • Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, and are accustomed to working for and with various types of organizations.
  • Our students have included a number of participants from Nova Scotian health and educational organizations, among other not-for-profit and for-profit groups.
  • I work in a small business. Are your programs right for me?

    Our Professional Development programs are applicable to professionals working in a variety of different organizations, including both for-profit and not-for-profit groups of various sizes. We also offer "Small Business, Big Marketing" as a program specifically tailored for the marketing needs of smaller organizations.

    You may also be interested in the extensive lineup of programs offered by ACSBE, the Acadia Centre for Social & Business Entrepreneurship. ACSBE operates offices in Wolfville, Bridgewater, and the Job Depot in Hubbards.

    Where are classes held?

    Most Professional Development programs are held on the Acadia University campus in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Campus is only a one-hour drive from Halifax.

    Several programs are available online or through correspondence. Please contact us if you are interested in on-site or customized training or programming.

    When should I check in?

    We recommend that you check in at the course location 30 minutes prior to the start of the course. Upon arrival you will receive your course materials.

    How do I find parking?

    Parking is available on campus at a charge of $8/day. Parking fees are non-refundable. Metered parking spaces are placed on reserve for those who purchase parking and you will receive instructions and directions to parking locations prior to the course start.

    There is no charge for parking on campus in parking lots after 5:00 pm, however if you are at a parking meter you are required to pay until 8:00 pm on weekdays. There is no charge for parking on campus on the weekend.
