An examination of the social processes involved in the creation and definition of deviance. Topics may include mental illness, drug use, youthful deviance, as well as organizational, corporate, and state deviance and criminalization.

Prerequisites: 6 credit hours from SOCI 1006, 1106 or 6 hours from 1013/1023/1033/1113 or equivalent.
